Most People Never Question Their Own Beliefs
The Masses Argue Endlessly, But They Never Ask Why They Believe What They Believe
Every single worldview has hidden assumptions beneath it. Every form of government has hidden assumptions beneath it. Every philosophical system of morals and thought has underlying assumptions beneath the surface. This in itself is not interesting. The interesting question is why have people stopped examining the assumptions beneath the surface of someone’s worldview and instead only debate the conclusions of that worldview.
This is the state of modern philosophical, political, and cultural discourse. Hidden assumptions or first principles are not examined closely by the masses. Most people have never thought or even seen the need to question their own hidden assumptions such as why democracy is a superior form of governance.
