Democracy is as moral as all other governing systems. That is to say that democracy is not inherently good or evil; it is simply a system that can be utilized by different types of people, which can either be used for the good of society, or it can be used to the detriment of society.
Democracy is not morally superior to any type of governance because of its ideals. Democracy should be judged on how it performs in reality. And reality has proven time and again that the same oligarch or elite class rises within a democracy just as it does in an aristocracy or a monarchy. These elite classes always possess disproportionate power compared to the masses in every society, not just in a democracy or in an aristocracy.
