There is something I've learnt. The "ism's" of the world, for example, socialism, capitalism, even marshism, were most likely all made in the same boardroom. There's no such thing as Socialism, where we can clearly see that power is being circulated among the same families, the same hands, literally the same boardrooms. These terms were made to make mere people argue and believe themselves to be "woke" and on the right patch to "excape the matrix" Meanwhile, the actual needle movers have both Capitalism, Socialism, and any other ism, dancing to their tunes.
If everything really worked only through raw power, society would have collapsed long ago. The fact that it hasn’t shows that fairness, trust, and rules are not just illusions. They may be imperfect, but they are what keep things from falling apart.
Even from an evolutionary perspective, humans are not built for pure domination. We evolved strong fairness instincts, a sense of reciprocity, and a willingness to punish cheaters, because groups with these traits outcompeted those without them. Power matters, but it only works over time when it is embedded in systems people see as at least somewhat fair. Ignore that, and you don’t get advantage, you get instability.
"Comfort does not determine reality" that’s the core of all of it, right? A blunt, necessary look at the difference between how we wish the world worked and how power actually flows. Thanks for sharing your Philosophy Thoughts. :)
Interesting. I agree with all of this, simply because I've experienced it all in some form. There's a reason our elders always told us life wasn't fair. To think it is, is a good, morally upright way of thinking, but it just doesn't execute well in our current reality. We must learn the game and how to maneuver. Very good post 👍🏾
An interesting article that assumes it. Is correct because it disparage a counter argument as slander and inappropriate. The core concept that life isn't fair or equitable holds truth. The argument that follows has flaws. Consider history. Why did the religious reformation take hold. It certainly wasn't because Martin Luther had leverage. Why have Copernicus's theory of the cosmos become accepted. It wasn't because he had leverage in scientific community.
Why have. Women gained the vote it wasn't because they had leverage in politics. Why is slavery abolished in most Western society it wasn't because slaves had leverage. These are just a few examples to demonstrate that fairness and equality can be achieved. I could list many more but that's pedantic.
You confuse your starting statement about fairness and equity in life to be a certaintity to be a condition that can't be changed..that's is simply not the case.
Those with Leverage always have an advantage democracy has an influence in change.
Think of Empires with leverage where are they today. Because leverage corrupts and makes those in power lazy, they miss the signals about change that brings fairness and equity into play
A fascinating reply. When people say they don’t keep up about the Epstein files because nothing will come of it, I tell them they are wrong. When enough people talk about, something will happen. A dam will break.
this is so freakin accurate. i read a similar essay long ago which stated the importance of utilizing all the unfair advantages we inherit genetically, physically, socially and everything.
Perfect observation. The Larger Consciousness System never designed this virtual reality for fairness or equal outcomes — it designed it for evolution through contrast.
Inequality of starting conditions, leverage, and results is built-in feedback. It forces individuated consciousness to choose: stay in fear, resentment, and victimhood (raising entropy), or wake up, study the rule-set, reduce personal entropy, and play at a higher level.
The “unfairness” is the catalyst. Those who accept it and respond with awareness, skill, and love-based intent gain the real advantage, not just material but in consciousness growth.
The simulation rewards those who learn how it actually works. Spot on.
This is so true and relavent to our current situation of Wars in the middle, center, up and down... Men becoming leaders not by merit, but by how financially rich they are. Those men and countries with money have the ability to happily ignore and violate UN's laws and regulations to literally turn the organization (UN) into nothing, other than their bathroom carpet..., which put more light on the rich and a poor man in courtroom analogy.
There is wisdom in understanding how systems distribute power. But there is also wisdom in recognizing that societies progress when fairness is pursued, even imperfectly. Ideals need not be illusions to be valuable.
Some inequalities are safe for human beings to notice and even out with no unforeseeable consequences, but the temptation to attempt to enact a totalizing philosophy of equality ... not so much. We can win small victories for equality & fairness here and there as long as we understand that inequality and unfairness will always prevail in some form or other.

Hollywood "lies" even when it is telling the truth-as-a-lie. Movies are sometimes the truth as the "lie" of art. But other times Hollywood confabulates things that aren't, never were, and never will be. That is the magic of immersive storytelling. ;-)

That is what controlled opposition is by definition.
Controlled opposition… I like that term… I’m willing to bet we both know the true enemy

Essentially, yes. People are far too accepting of comforting illusions over truth.
“Life’s not fair.” Some of the best words my father ever said to me.

Real
You all talk like you just discovered something important that very few people are aware of.
True.
That why the world is unfair
Great read thanks for sharing !

There's nothing philosophical about this.
Philosophy exists to decipher reality, not validate your feelings and perceptions. We are sorry this isn't a generic stoicism slop account.
If you can serve somebody, your life shall not have been in vain.

And Hollywood never really lies. I love that quote.
